Spa Massage

Want to feel like a newborn again.

Spa Massage is used for a multitude of reasons – pain relief and reducing stress are two common reasons for most individuals to seek this treatment.

Practice of manipulation of the soft body tissue has physical, functional, and therapeutical purposes and goals.

Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue. Massage can be applied with hands, fingers, elbows, forearm, and feet among many other application techniques.

Different positions of massage are available, in a spa you are more apt to lie on a table, while at your place of employment or any other social setting they may offer a 15-20 minute stress reducing massages by sitting upright in a massage chair.

Spa Massage for great relaxation
Theories behind what massage might do include blocking pain signals to the brain, stimulating the release of endorphins and serotonin, improving sleep, decreasing muscle tension, increasing flexibility and reducing blood pressure by increasing blood flow making the body relaxed and better able to function.

There is a long list of the types of massages that are available. One of the most prevalent spa massage being the Swedish massage where they use long, flowing strokes performed with open hands and accommodated with oil, cream or lotion applied to the skin to reduce friction.

Other massage techniques use kneading movement with the whole palm or finger tips, using wringing, skin rolling, compression, and/or lifting.

The United States does require the massage profession to be licensed by having a certificate, diploma or degree depending on the particular school and they must attend continuing education requirements to maintain this status.

We all need to be spoiled now and then...

Give yourself a gift of a spa massage treatment and feel the results of a relaxed, stress free body. Never forget to pamper yourself and enjoy the life you have been given.

For the at home end-of-day therapy try giving your feet the pampering that they deserve.

Spa Massage with a foot massasge

Feet carry the weight of your body and are restricted in the shoes that you wear which over time may cause the feet to become tired and sore, thus creating stress throughout the entire body. Some easy techniques to reduce the tension in your feet would be to:

1. Roll a tennis ball under your foot. This is a great way to stretch the plantar fascia that is the long tendon that runs along the planter surface of the foot from the heel to the ball of the foot.

Spa Massage for dogs feet

2. Pour hot water into a basin with a cup of Epsom salts and eight drops of Lavender Oil or use a spa treatment foot massage bath, soothing heat helps maintain warm water temperature and your aching feet get the papering they deserve.

We all need a refreshing foot soak after a long hard day on the feet !!
