Insomnia

Most sleep disorders up to and including insomnia are associated with stress that plays a part in your every day life.

When other variables in addition to stress are introduced it can aggravate and worsen any sleep disorder and escalate the problem.

There are three stages or levels of sleep disorders that are used to describe sleep patterns that can identify and acknowledge the extent of a sleeping problem. These consist of:

Transient or short term - lasts only a few nights caused from temporary issues.

Intermittent- occurs from time to time over months

Chronic - occurs every or most nights lasting over a month

These different levels of sleeping disorders are noted by the response that the individuals report in reference to their specific problem such as having trouble falling asleep, staying asleep through the night, or waking early and not being able to fall back to sleep and the frequency of these episodes.

Transient or intermittent are usually due to a temporary health or mental problem such as stress. There are a few ways to approach these lesser forms of sleep disorders.

Find and acknowledge the underlying issues that are causing the sleep disorder.

Assess and identify any triggers or patterns that worsen your sleeping problems.

Experiment with a series of sleep tips to find out what your body needs to give you a restful night’s sleep.

Not getting the proper sleep can leave you very vulnerable to contracting illnesses that your body would have normally had the ability to defend itself against.

The third level, which is chronic will require a minimum of four tasks to help resolve the sleep disorder.

This would be the three issues noted above plus a very important addition and that is to seek the help of a physician.

Chronic sleep disorders will more likely result in using a form of medication to get your body back on a healthy path but your health physician will be able to look at the contributing causes and help to get these issues back under control.
